Ok boys/girls. But as I said the other day, next month The Lounge is going to have a lot of interesting stuff and changes for you, so be prepares and stay around. Feel free to read some of my articles, have a look inside our archives, you can find a lot of things there. I’ll earn more money during this two weeks to apply some strategies to promote The Lounge.

Well, I hope to see you here after this two weeks, of course I’ll be reading your blogs and your posts, and that’s it. Take care!. See You soon!.

Some Advantages Of Theme Sponsorship

April 24, 2007

This time I want to write about some of the advantages of sponsoring a WordPress Theme. About 3 weeks ago I designed my first WP theme for public release, back then I had a Technorati Rank of 143,200 the morning after the release my TR jumped to the 42,127 position, why? because all the backlinks i receives as a result of making public my theme with my links.

So far I’ve released about 6 different themes and they have been downloaded more than 3,700 times, that’s one of the reasons why today I broke the Top 10,000 Barrier in Technorati. Ok, now let’s talk about sponsorship, 5 of my 6 themes have been sponsored designs, and I receives about $550 for that. Just imagine what a few bucks can make for your blog or site. More than an expense it is an investment, just ask Jon of SmartWealthyRich, he sponsored my last design a few days ago and we are already counting the first backlinks and there are maybe thousands to come in the future. Ok, now lets take a look to some of the advantages.

  • You can get an incredible number of potential backlinks with each theme.
  • You can receive Backlinks from blogs with a high PageRank.
  • Your Technorati Rank will increase considerably.
  • You can get a lot of visits.
  • Much more.

And we all know the benefits that come with a high TR. Some users will actually remove the links, but 90% of them will leave the credits. Just think about it, meditate it and if you’re interested drop me a line!

Is It Easy To Make Money With a Blog?

April 23, 2007

I want you to close your eyes and ask yourself, “Am I really going to make a difference with my blog?, or should I quit?” well the most logic advice is , don’t quit, do things different. Let’s face it, not all bloggers are doing this for the money, but it is an extra value to this hobby or profession, call it whatever you want. The truth is that it is not an easy task.

Through all this months I’ve seen a lot of blogs with lines like: “make money online” , “money making tips” , “we help you make money online” or “make money with AdSense and become rich” well, maybe those topics were hot two years ago, from my point of view, I really don’t want to read those kind of blogs anymore, well, maybe once in a while, it seems that 3 out of 5 blogs are about how to make money online , just because a guy was successful with his “Problogger” thing doesn’t mean that everyone following the same style will make it, and I am not saying that some of them don’t have valuable or useful content. To be honest , this site was launched with the same purpose, but I realized that if I really wanted to be successful and to prevail I had to offer something different.

I know that some people are not going to agree with me this time, and that’s not what I’m looking for. what I’m really looking for is to encourage all of you to do something different there are many readers who are looking for something unique, just give them what they want. From time to time I publish something related to money and blogs, but I try to give more, or from a different perspective.

What really makes me mad is to see blogs telling their readers how easy is to make money blogging when they don’t even make $100 per month. There has to a be a moment when you say: enough, I must be doing something wrong , how much time are you willing to wait to see the first dollar? , how much are you willing to give? You have to be smart and talented. Ok, so far I’ve earned $550 and as you can see I still don’t have AdSense or affiliate links in my site, I’m doing it through design, and i have other plans to make money with my blog. but not yet. Well i just want you to know what I think about this, now share your opinion with us.

Is Microsoft Losing The Empire?

April 18, 2007

There was a time in which Microsoft was the absolute ruler of technology, information and modern knowledge. But not anymore, the giant has been losing the empire piece by piece, new players are taking advantage of the weakness of Microsoft. Bill Gates announced that next year he will retire. This announcement adds uncertainty to the current situation of the company.

There’s a particular player that is taking advantage and that is becoming the next ruler, Google. Now let’s take a look to some battles that Microsoft has already lost.

Smart Phones

What should the new direction do?

One Day Blog Silence

April 18, 2007

As you all know, Monday was a tragic day not just fro the U.S, but for all the World, a 23 year old massacred 32students at the Virginia Tech University and then killed himself. This kind of things have to stop. No one deserves that. My girlfriend told me that she saw an image about a campaign in memory of those who were killed in VT, she found it while reading Jon’s blog. The campaign is called One Day Blog Silence and it is a way to demonstrate that we are all united, that care and that this kind of situations hurt us.

Basically it is an entire day without posts or comments in memory of the 32 victims, April 30. I already added the badge to my sidebar, it will remain there till this month is over. If you believe in justice, friendship, peace and most important in love, show your support. This has to end now.

“Please Don’t cry for me, I’m still here with you, I’ll be reborn in the smile of an innocent child, and if you cry, be sure that I’ll be there by your side to wipe your tears away”

What Political Campaigns Can Teach Us About Business.

April 17, 2007

Any kind of business. I want to make that clear before starting with this post. We all have seen candidates on tv promising to give everything to the people in exchange of their support and their vote, in some occasions in exchange of their money. What this guys are doing is the same thing as a company. They’re trying to sell their image as a company tries to promote it’s brand, they are also trying to convince people about something valuable and different, that no one else can offer.

You already know how this works, it’s the same thing in the U.S , in Mexico, India or Canada. But, what can this campaigns teach us about business? well, a lot in fact. Let’s take a look to some interesting points.

Be controversial
. Theres a quote that says “Big dogs don’t bark” this means that the real big important guys don’t need to be spreading the word or showing off. But the truth is that a controversial person with a controversial story can bring a lot of attention, People love strange and unusual things, they love that, so if you want more attention than usual, you know what to do.

Give Power to your people. Not just to your supporters and partners, but also to your followers, customers and even competitors, this las arguments might sound a little strange for you, but just analyze it, if you give a piece of the cake to each person you work with they’ll be grateful with you and they’ll want more from, you, this will make them to stay, of course be careful and don’t give them everything at once. Do you get my point?

Always accept advice. Never, never think you know everything. We all need an advice from time to time, one advantage of presidential candidates is that they are surrounded of great advisers, so don’t be afraid of asking for help.

Be Transparent. If you’re promoting your company, say so. Nothing is worse than creating a fictitious profile that is later uncovered by your target audience. You and your company’s credibility will take a nose dive.

Be careful of what you promise and offer. Customers are intelligent (well, let’s face it, not all of them) but they know when you are promising more than what you can actually give, this will make you lose credibility and of course support and money.

Ok, that’s it, there are many great tips we can learn from political campaigns, but these ones are the most relevant and useful, if you know another one, please share it with us.

New WordPress Theme. iLeather 1.0!

April 16, 2007

This is my newest design for WordPress. It is an original 3 column theme called iLeather 1.0. This new creation has a very outstanding design with eye catching visual effects and colors. The header displays an image of brown leather texture, and the colors in the background create a perfect modern and sophisticated atmosphere inside the blog.

By the way, the sponsor of our themes decided to stop sponsoring new designs, so right now this new creation has no sponsored links. I’ll need new sponsors for future themes, and believe me, the new ones are going to be amazing. If someone decides to support my themes he’ll receive a lot of backlinks , my previous creations have been downloaded almost 2,000 times in total, just imagine the amazing number of backlinks you can receive. I’m planning to launch a new collection of premium designs but I’ll need support. So if you are interested, please let me know.
