What is Your Blogging Objective?

March 19, 2008

Blogging for Enlightenment

I have been reading the Maverick blog by Mark Cuban recently. If you haven’t had a chance to read his post, I recommend you give it a try. In fact, recently I’ve been reading several blogs authored by C-level corporate types. The variety of topics are both interesting and thought-provoking. Mark (Owner of the Dallas Mavericks NBA team) seems to get on his occasional anti-big media rants but always makes his point about blogging in a manner that helps you understand how to build your brand and elevate the perception of your product or service in the eye of the public. His no-holds barred blogging style is both transparent and honest. He has a pretty big ego, but then again, look what (or who) he has to deal with on a day to day basis. Talk about egos – NBA ballers must possess the biggest egos of all. I’m not prone for recommending many blogs but in this case, I say give it try and let me know what you think. Be prepared – it’s different!

Comment//Zation V2 Contest! Win a Premium Logo Design!

September 4, 2007

Hi everyone! Today I want to announce our second Comment//Zation Contest! You might remeber our first contest, where Santosh won the logo design. Well This time BrandNiu is going to be the desegner of the winner’s logo.

The Rules

Again, the rules are very simple, during this 2 weeks, starting from today, until Tuesday 18th write as many comments as you can, share your opinions, ideas and thoughts with us about the posts on this blog, but please write good comments, only high quality, relevant and useful comments will be approved, there are some old post where comments are closed.

The one that comments the most will be presented as the winner of this contest. The deadline date as I said is on Tuesday 18th , so hurry up, it only takes less than two minutes to write a good comment.

The Prize

If you become one of the top commentators of these two weeks, you’ll receive a backlink, but the winner will get an amazing Premium logo design for his/her blog or website or product, or whatever!, designed of course by me.

A good logo design can cost you up to $1,000 so this is a really good deal, you just have to comment, that’s it.

Additional to that, the winner will also receive a permanent backlink from this blog because his/her name along with the name of the blog (or whatever) will be published in a post.

That’s it! start commenting and spread the word!

5 Signs To See If Your Are a People Person

August 28, 2007

There’s something we must all have to increase our posibilites of success, we must be very well conected, we must have “touch” and good relationships. Remember that if you want to lead you always need someone that follows you, right? , because above all “A leader is a people person”.

The point of this post, is that you understand how important is the ability to relate well to others because this will become part of your future professional success. Probably you are the most brilliant designer or programmer in the world, but if you lack of social graces you will not develop into a leader or an outstanding element, of course for every rule, there is a conspicuous exception. But how can you determine whether you are a people person or not? Well, there are 5 signs that can help you to define this.

  • You listen to toher people’s ideas. But not just listen, you pay attention towhat they’re saying.
  • You make eye contact. Everytime someone approaches, you establish visual contact, this is the best way to start a good conversation.
  • You try to be in the same situation as others. This means you have the ability to put yourself in another person’s situation and mindset. A people person cares about his fellow man and woman.
  • You Try to give them what they want. Because you know that one day everything will come back to you. What you give is what you get.
  • You’re not a pusher. You understand that things have to be dome as you want them to be, but you also understand that if you push someone the result willnot be perfect. Lead, don’t push. Teach don’t impose.

All great leaders, from CEO’s to ruler’s have this special talent. Most of all never forget that they are also humans just like you, this is something very valuable and worthless that can be acquired over time, so if you feel you still don’t have it, don’t worry and start practicing.
