As you know I’m also a designer, I leke to design a lot of things, not just logos and brands, the other day I was just playing around with photoshop and I created a great brush set for PS, and I thought ” I should promote this set” so I decided to release it for public use, this gave me also a lot of visits to my blog, first I submitted the brush set to Deviantart and then to Brusheeze, which is a great site full of free Photoshop brushes. This was on saturday I think, and so farit has been download more than 1570 times just in Brusheezy, just imagine!.

Talent V.S Effort

There was a time in which effort and dedication were the main ingredients to succeed. Today we all know that’s not all it takes to be successful, there are other things and skills to consider, one of them is talent, we all have it, but not all know where it resides or what it can do.

Talent is defined as the ability to do something different , something smarter and better. It is basically a skill or a gift someone’s born with, sometimes it is acquired after with the pass of time. The truth is that nowadays those who really use their talent istead of their force are the ones that achieve their goals.

Effort has to complement talent, and talent has to complement effort, but if we have to decide which one is better, I would say the second one. Why? simple, because it is the tool that will lead you trough the path of success, talent will guide your moves and your steps. For example, many people (not all) who used to be top of the class at school , always studing, always working, without almost any free time, are working for someone that enjoyed life, parties, school, friends, get the idea? How can this be explained? 20 Must Do’s Before You Reach Your First Year As a Blogger!

There are some things a person must do before reaching a certain level of experience, for example, in order to become an adult, you must do things like: get a job, get drunk 🙂 , learn how to drive, study, thing like that, you get the idea. Well the same happens when you’re a blogger, you have to do certain things to call yourself a real blogger.

For some people these tasks take a lot of time to be performed, but to others it becomes a piece of cake,well, now let’s go straight to the point, this is the list of the 20 things you must do before you reach your first year as a blogger, check them, and see which ones you’re missing, and if you have already completed the list, well then congratulations because you’re in your way to become a really successful blogger.

1. Reach a decent traffic level. This point can vary depending on the blog, but let’s say around the 300 UV per day, and i’s still low.
2. Break the Technorati Top 10K barrier. Some blogs can even reach a better rank in few months.
3. Reach at least 250 subscribers. I know, for some it may sound very low, and to others a very difficult number, but believe me, it isn’t, it a very good number for a GOOD 1 year old blog.
4. Redesign your blog! It is very commont to see new blogs changing the design constantly, (sounds very familiar to me) but this is normal, until your get the perfect look for your site.
5. Be constantly checking the status of your site. This is also very common among new bloggers, during the first months you’re always checking for updates, comment and new rankings.

Restarting The Fire!

Hi everyone! I’ts been a long time since our last post! Why? well first of all I went for two weeks to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, lots of sun and lots of fun, second, because I was trying to give this blog a new look, with new functions, so I spent a lot of time in the redesign, I hope you like it and ejoy it, and third because I’ve been working in other personal projects as well, some of them really interesting. Basically those are the mainr eason why this blog was down for almost a month, but now I’m back, I’m back to the university as well, so I guess I’ll be posting maybe two or three times a week, but I’ll try to provide you high quality relevant articles.

Although this blog was down for a month, it still receives a lot of visits and it still has a lot of subscribers, thanks to all of you. As you can see we also experimented a small rebranding, we have a new logo! Well, This is a new season for The Lounge, We’re back, so let’s start the fire again!

Oh! By the way, let me know what you think about the new design! It is based on an original theme by BloggerLounge called ParmaRossa, I’ll release a public version very soon. Take care and I’ll post the first new article very soon!
